About fancy colored diamonds

Colored diamonds are formed when other elements are mixed into the diamond during crystallization, giving it the characteristic of bright colors. In addition to size, the preciousness of colored diamonds is most directly affected by color depth, color purity, and brightness.

Colored diamonds also use 4C grading, and the biggest difference from colorless diamonds is the color grading. Because colored diamonds are colored, most imperfections will be masked by color, so the clarity grade of a fancy colored diamond will not unduly affect its value.

The measurement and grading of colored diamonds can be divided into three parts:

  • Hue : The name of a color, such as red, blue, green, purple, etc.
  • Tones : The light and dark changes in color.
  • Saturation : The density grading of a color.
From the lightest color , Faint, to Very Light, Light , Fancy Light, Fancy , Fancy Dark , Fancy Intense , and Fancy . Fancy Vivid , to the darkest Fancy Deep .
Among the ratings, the deep color Fancy Vivid has the highest value.

The following is a brief introduction to the different colors of fancy colored diamonds.

yellow

Yellow diamonds, also known as "canary diamonds," contain nitrogen atoms in their structure, which absorb blue and purple light, giving them a beautiful yellow color. After Z color, a fancy light diamond can be called a fancy yellow diamond.

pink color

This color gives people the impression of romance and charm. Pink diamonds are also one of the rarest colored diamonds in existence, accounting for less than 1% of the total production. Due to structural defects and distortion of the twin structure, diamonds appear pink.

blue

This beautiful blue color is created because of the presence of boron atoms in the diamond's carbon structure, which allows electricity to pass through. Generally speaking, the higher the content of boron in a diamond's structure, the more intense its blue hue will be. However, the coloration of blue diamonds may also be caused by other factors, such as radiation or hydrogen.

green

Green diamonds are formed over millions of years by absorbing natural, completely harmless natural radiation, making them even more precious. The color of green diamonds is caused by radiation causing carbon atoms in the crystal structure to deviate from their normal positions.

orange color

The vivid color of orange diamonds means that the diamond is rich in nitrogen.

black

Black diamonds, also known as "black diamonds", are multi-grade bodies composed of non-quality carbon such as graphite, pyrite or hematite. These diamonds may also have many cracks and cracks that are dyed black, or due to graphitization. turns black. But what is certain is that the accumulation of these inclusions is what gives black diamonds their color. In modern times, its mysterious and deadly beauty has become extremely popular.

red
Red diamonds are pure carbonite and do not contain any chemical impurities. They are the most unique and rare diamonds among all kinds of colored diamonds. Due to structural defects and distortion of the twin structure, diamonds appear red.
